Abstract

In the year 1752 the first Slovak translation of a part of a biblical text was published and it was a psaltery. The publication of this book was a response to language as well as spiritual need of the reformed believers who lived in the territory of Ung reformed seniority. In the text we focus on a cultural-historical context as well as on language environment which was held by the Reformed Church for this step.
