Abstract


The nobility was open to news in some areas of life, on the other hand, it strictly observed
traditions. Dining was fullfiling several functions: creating and strengthening social contacts.
It pointed to the property, lifestyle and cultural maturity of the nobles. It increased
its social prestige and confirmed its status. Otherwise, it could come up to shame and
damage its reputation.
