The study presents library and reading room of the Slovak Evangelical Youth – Association of Matej Bahil in Prešov (SEM JMB in Prešov), which brought together high school students  of the Evangelical confession in Prešov in the 1920s and 1940s. The paper was elaborated on the basis of partial archival sources. It focuses on documenting the existence of librarians and their competences, issues of building and using the library, its content, existence and use of the reading room, as well as periodicals. The association attempted to use the library and reading room during throughout its existence. Association members used the library for own studies and individual or association activities (such as moral and religious, cultural and educational or social). At present, from the mentioned library, the 1939 catalogue and some prints (books, periodicals) are preserved in the historical collection of the State Scientific Library of Prešov.
