Bohuslav Tablic’s views on the significance of education for the development of an individual and the entire society, including also his reflections on the purpose of education for the development of the national community are an integral part also of his poetic works. In various forms, the themes of necessity of increasing the education level and cultivation of wide public appear there as well. With great interest, he reflected also on various personalities who had been supporting the development of the education system, or events that had significantly contributed to the increase of the education level in the Hungarian, and particularly in the Slovak environment. The idea of education or of the universal development of the human personality influenced not only the thematic, but also the poetic characteristics of Tablic’s poetry in many respects. Therefore, the analyses of the individual poems clarify his attitude towards the key issues of the social, political and cultural situation in the Hungarian environment in many respects.
