Abstract


An astronomer and land-owner noble Mikuláš Konkoly-Thege (1842 – 1916) was the
founder of one of the first astrophysical observatories in Central Europe, meteorological
and geophysical observatory in Hurbanovo. From 1879 the observatory had its own publication
called Beobachtungen angestellt der Astrophysicalischen Observatorium in Ógyalla,
printed in Halle and Budapest. It contained e.g. the results of astronomical, meteorological
and geomagnetic observations, descriptions of used instruments and equipment,
information about observatory, its staff.
