Members of the Balzer Prague Engraving Family, Jan, Matyáš, Řehoř and František brothers, as well as Jan's sons Jan Karel and Antonín Karel, participated in various types of publications contributing to pedagogical activities in the broadest sense. Out of their over 1,000 illustrations in about 200 prints, multilingual syllables, drawing lessons, and professional books serving not only higher levels can be highlighted. That is why there is an image of the Old and New Testament intended for children and their parents, as well as illustrated by the Gospel. It is impossible to omit printed reports on the development of a new conception of enlightenment education. All these illustrations were used for the actual content of the lessons or also for the decoration of the books in the form of title vignettes. The vast majority of these books were written in German.
