The article describes the activity of two Catholic priests, editors and politicians Florian Tománek and Ferdinand Juriga in the process of establishment and activities of the Slovak associations and banks until 1918. Based on the analysis of the source material, especially the newspaper articles from the pen of this couple in the Slovenské ľudové noviny, we have tried to bring the forth historical circumstances and the preconditions for the formation of several associations. The study attempts to create a picture of the process of establishing a sales association for the fruit and vegetable producers in Záhorie, or factories for processing their products. It continues with the discovery of the links associated with the formation of several financial institutions – banks. The paper also emphasizes the circumstances and motivations of the establishment of the Catholic Society for the Viennese Slovaks, the Slovak Catholic Unity.
The aim of this work was to describe the wide spectrum of educational activities of Florián Tománek and Ferdinand Juriga especially within the Slovak peasants.
